Danish astronaut Mogensen to spend six months at ISS

Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen will start his travel to the International Space Station Saturday . In doing so, he waves goodbye to Earth and will live in space for six months. The launch in Florida was to take place Friday at 03:49 local time – 09:49 Danish time, but has been moved to Saturday same time. This means, among other things, that Mogensen and his three astronaut colleagues have spent the last few days reversing their circadian rhythm so that they are completely ready for departure in the middle of the night, “Ever since we arrived at Kennedy Space Center three days ago, we have been living on the circadian rhythm that we must have on the day of launch. We go to bed around 12:30-13:00 in the afternoon, and then we get up around 21:00-21:30 in the evening, because that’s what we’re going to do on launch day,” said Andreas Mogensen, who will be the pilot of the “Crew Dragon” spacecraft. Mogensen travels with American Jasmin Moghbeli, commander of the spaceship, Japanese Satoshi Furukawa and Russian Konstantin Borisov. /ritzau/
