Renowned actor Bent Mejding passes at 87
Danish actor Bent Mejding has died from serious pneumonia at 87. His wife, Susse Wold, shared the news on Instagram. Bend Mejding, known for his outstanding role as Jørgen Varnæs in the TV series ‘Matador,’ began his acting career on stage after studying at the Private Theatres’ School. He enjoyed a distinguished career, not only acting but also directing, particularly at Det Ny Teater and Betty Nansen Theatre. Mejding’s performance in ‘Private Lives’ captivated audiences over 700 times. He earned critical acclaim with two Robert awards, for roles in ‘Drømmen’ and ‘Tro, Håb og Kærlighed.’ His last act was in ‘Kærestebreve.’ Wold requests privacy for mourning and recounts their wish to have their ashes spread in Hawaii’s sea.
