Today’s news / Medicinal sales boost Danish exports
The Danish Chamber of Commerce estimates that a significant part of goods exported to the USA, which do not cross the Danish border, are produced in factories in the USA. This applies, for example, to some of Novo Nordisk's medicine sales. (Archive photo). Photo: George Frey/Reuters

Medicinal sales boost Danish exports

Danish exports increased by 7% in October, reaching 187.6 billion kroner, with medicinal products largely driving this growth, as per Statistics Denmark. Kristian Skriver from Dansk Erhverv highlighted a significant one-month surge, especially praising the pharmaceutical sector with Novo Nordisk at the forefront. Exports to the USA grew by 17.1% in the past three months, with Danish-owned companies producing and selling within the USA becoming increasingly prominent. Notably, 75% of the Danish goods exported to the USA didn’t cross Danish borders over the past year. This production within US territory could be advantageous if president Donald Trump enacts anticipated tariffs on EU goods.
