Danish coins with royal motif by spanish firm

Real Casa de La Moneda from Spain has been chosen by Denmark’s National Bank to mint new Danish coins featuring King Frederik. They are taking over from Mint of Finland, which has produced the coins since 2017. The Spanish-made coins, which include 1-, 2-, 5-, 10-, and 20-kroner denominations, are set to be in circulation by year-end. The National Bank commended the successful partnership with Mint of Finland and anticipates a new chapter of high-quality production with the Spanish mint. A prior release in November included a 20-krone coin depicting both King Frederik and Queen Margrethe, designed by Eva Hjort, featuring the king’s motto ‘Forbundne, forpligtet, for kongeriget Danmark’.
