Danish Parliament bans use of chinese AI
The Danish Parliament has issued a ban on the usage of the Chinese AI service Deepseek by its employees and politicians, citing security concerns. The measure aims to prevent the potential risk of surveillance of parliamentary data. This decision aligns with previous practices adopted by the Danish government’s IT department, which has already blocked Deepseek on state computers. The ban applies to all devices provided by the Parliament, such as iPhones, iPads, and computers. Deepseek, similar to the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT by OpenAI, has quickly emerged as a competitor. However, concerns about how it handles personal information have been raised. Previously, the Danish Parliament also advised against the use of TikTok on official devices, following a recommendation by the Centre for Cyber Security.
