Worker dies in accident at Danish Crown
A 54-year-old cleaning assistant from the Grindsted area died in a workplace accident at the Danish Crown slaughterhouse in Holsted, 15 kilometers west of Vejen, on Tuesday evening. The incident was reported to the South and South Jutland Police at 8:12 PM, after the man was trapped while cleaning. He was declared dead at the scene. The police have informed the immediate family and the case is now with the Danish Working Environment Authority. Danish Crown stated that it is still unclear how the accident occurred, expressing that such tragedies are unacceptable. Another cleaner found the man squeezed between two lifts and alerted the authorities.
