Deadline for residence card soon expires for Brits
The deadline for applying for continued residence in Denmark expires at the turn of the year for British residents. Therefore, Minister for Immigration and Integration Kaare Dybvad Bek urges the Brits to apply so that they can continue their lives in Denmark. This is stated in a press release from the Ministry of Immigration and Integration. “Many Britons live in Denmark as a natural part of our society. They contribute greatly to the labour market and to Danish society. I hope that they will continue to do so,” Kaare Dybvad Bek wrote in the press release. When the UK left the EU, Britons living in Denmark were given the opportunity to apply for continued residence in Denmark under the Withdrawal Agreement. The application deadline expired on 31 December 2021. However, not everyone applied before the deadline. Therefore, in the spring, the government decided to extend the application deadline to 31 December 2023. /ritzau/
