CEO prevails in power struggle at BioGas giant

Despite earlier conflicts, Bertel Maigaard will retain his role as CEO of the biogas conglomerate BioCirc, as determined in an extraordinary general meeting. The new board of directors was announced in a press release, stating the meeting proceeded calmly with substantial support from capital owners. This follows a public power struggle since the new year, involving disagreements among the management, board, and owners. Five of the seven board members had announced Maigaard’s dismissal before the new year, which was then contested by BioCirc. Michael Haaning, the chairman, and two members from DLG preemptively resigned after the dispute. Maigaard’s family office and A-capital owners appointed four and two new board members, respectively. Maigaard acknowledged his firm leadership style and expressed a desire to address any resulting employee frustrations. BioCirc, founded in 2021, is touted as one of the largest biogas producers globally.
