ATP sees profitable investments in 2023

In 2023, Danish pension company ATP rebounded from a tough 2022 with a positive pre-tax investment return of 5.7 billion DKK. ATP earned 4.5 billion DKK from stocks and 4.9 billion DKK from bonds, despite a 2.2 billion DKK loss in real estate. CEO Martin Præstegaard credited the long-term investment strategy for the sensible performance after the previous year’s 64 billion DKK loss. Adopting a new accounting method, ATP’s annual result will always be zero. The firm provides pensions to over a million members and raised payouts by three percent, averaging out at 16,600 DKK yearly. ATP, established in 1964, serves as a mandatory pension supplement with 5.6 million members, with payouts dependent on the duration of one’s contributions.
