DK-Sweden extra departures
The low exchange rate of the Swedish krona has led to a large increase in the number of Danish travellers across the Kattegat on Stena Line this summer, the Swedish shipping company says in a press release. In total, Stena Line has had 41 percent more Danish travellers to Sweden in the June to August period compared to last year. To service the increase in passengers, Stena Line is to introduce one additional daily departure between Frederikshavn and Gothenburg five days a week. “The Swedish krone exchange rate obviously affects the number of Danes travelling to Sweden, as food, accommodation and shopping continue to is cheaper for them,” says Stena Line’s commercial manager, Ulf Staff. TT says that the number of Swedish travellers has reduced by 18 per cent in the same period. /ritzau/
