DR to donate TV equipment to Ukraine

Due to Russia’s destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure, Ukraine needs equipment to restore and maintain broadcasting in the country. The Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) will be donating TV equipment to Ukraine in a document that Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt wants the Parliamentary Finance Committee to endorse. The Ukrainian Minister of Culture has asked the Danish Minister of Culture for various forms of support. Among other things, equipment for radio and television broadcasting.
     According to the document, Engel-Schmidt has asked relevant actors as to whether they have equipment that can be donated. In this connection, DR has informed the Ministry of Culture that it has the equipment in question that could be donated to Ukraine. This is not equipment that must be returned to DR at a given time, as it is equipment that is either to be sold or not used, the document says. /ritzau/
