Law firm criticizes errors in Elbit case

An investigation by law firm Bruun & Hjejle found mistakes by the Danish Ministry of Defense and its FMI in the Elbit artillery purchase. Both were criticized for document errors about the deal’s timeline, and FMI didn’t follow standard market procedures, favoring Elbit without proper evaluation of alternatives. Additionally, it did not inform the ministry of its settlement with Elbit. After the Elbit affair, there were leadership changes at the ministry and FMI. The issue originated when Denmark replaced outdated artillery donated to Ukraine, with parties misled about the urgency of Elbit’s offer. This led to major role changes, with the former defense minister leaving politics.
