Experienced CEO to steer Danish Crown
Experienced executive Niels Duedahl is set to restore Danish Crown’s butchery business as the new CEO after Jais Valeur announced his departure in June. The announcement was made by Danish Crown in a press release. Asger Krogsgaard, the chairman of the food company, believes the change is timely as Danish Crown is entering a new strategic period and a significant transformation phase. The company, owned by Danish farmers, has faced pressures including a decrease in pig slaughtering in Denmark leading to the closure of facilities in Sæby and Ringsted with an expected loss of 1200 jobs. Internally, there has been dissent, as seen with Thomas Kjær stepping down as vice-chairman due to disagreements about the company’s direction. Duedahl, feeling well-prepared for the challenge, will officially take over on September 2.
