Breivik loses lawsuit against norway
Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik lost his lawsuit against the state of Norway, where he claimed that his prison conditions constituted a human rights violation. The Oslo District Court dismissed the case on Thursday, reports the news agency NTB. Aftenposten, a local newspaper, noted that Breivik plans to appeal the decision. The trial was held at Ringerike Prison, where Breivik is serving his sentence, in January. This is the second time Breivik has sued the state for human rights breaches. He was sentenced to preventive detention in 2012 after killing 77 people in attacks in Oslo and on the island of Utøya in July 2011. After 12 years of what was described during the trial as relative isolation, Breivik claims to have suffered serious harm from the incarceration and asserts that he is depressed and on the verge of suicide.
