SF leads as the largest party ahead of The Social Democratic Party
SF – in English Green Left – celebrated becoming the largest Danish party in the EU parliamentary elections with 17.4% of the votes, surpassing The Social Democratic Party who garnered 15.6%. SF’s party leader, Pia Olsen Dyhr, interpreted the results as a mandate for a different direction for Denmark, emphasizing climate, environment, biodiversity, and public welfare over tax cuts. The result marked SF’s best electoral performance and a growth of 4.2 percentage points from the 2019 elections. Despite their success, Dyhr downplayed the competition with other parties, focusing on the support for SF’s vision for Denmark. The party’s top candidates are Kira Marie Peter-Hansen, Rasmus Nordqvist, and Villy Søvndal.
