Lack of staff named top growth barrier for businesses
In Denmark, four out of ten companies identify employee shortage as the main hurdle for growth. This finding comes from a survey conducted by the Confederation of The Danish Industries among approximately 2100 members, with over 500 businesses responding. Despite political issues gaining more attention in spring, the clear message from the companies is the persistent need for qualified labor, as stated by Steen Nielsen, director of labor market policy. The survey also reveals that about one-third of the companies have unsuccessfully attempted to recruit new employees in the past three months, with general uncertainty also being cited as an obstacle for development opportunities in Denmark.
