Israel’s Defense Chief marks ‘Day of Failures’

Herzi Halevi, Israel’s defense chief, marked October 7 as a failure in protecting Israeli citizens, reflecting on Hamas’ attack in 2023 that led to around 1200 deaths, mostly civilians, and 250 kidnappings. In the subsequent Gaza conflict, 42,000 Palestinians died, with the UN deeming this count reliable. Halevi claims Hamas’ military has been subdued but the fight against other segments continues, emphasizing Israel’s commitment to preventing such future attacks. Meanwhile, Israel’s recent assaults in Lebanon have heavily impacted Hezbollah, causing over 2000 deaths, mostly in the past two weeks, confirmed by Lebanon’s Health Ministry. Israel maintains that their offensive will ensure the non-recurrence of October 7.
