Ukrainians Predominate Danish Immigration
Denmark’s immigration decreased by 19% in 2023. Ukrainians remained the prominent group with 8,229 individuals, being 8% of all immigrants. This is a substantial drop from 2022, greatly influenced by the war in Ukraine. Ukrainians have found employment mainly in agriculture, cleaning, industry, trade, and transport sectors, and are appreciated for their labor contribution. A special Danish law permits their stay until March 2025. Despite a natural population decline, with deaths outnumbering births, Denmark’s population grew by 28,595 due to net immigration, totaling 5,961,249 residents on January 1.
