
Danish actor Ulf Pilgaard passes away
Danish actor Ulf Pilgaard has died on Monday after a short illness, as announced by Hammer PR. His son Christian Pilgaard mourns his loss, cherishing his memory. Pilgaard, aged 83, leaves behind a son, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. Known for his work on stage, film, and TV, Pilgaard remained active almost until his death, recently reprising a role in a 1994 classic. Initially studying theology, friends led him to acting, debuting in 1961. Renowned for satirical work and iconic parodies, he played many roles including in ‘Borgen’ and ‘Farligt venskab,’ the latter earning him awards. His last show was in 2021 after 40 seasons with Cirkusrevyen. Pilgaard, who suffered from KOL and had cataract surgery, released a book on Danish revue history. He was partnered with Annette Bavnhøj following the loss of his wife Gitte to Huntington’s Chorea in 2016.
