Thieves escape with jewelry from Field’s store
On Sunday evening, burglars broke into the jewelry store Carat Diamanter in Field’s shopping center in Copenhagen, as reported by duty officer Anders Frederiksen from Copenhagen Police. The shop was closed, but the center was open when the burglary occurred. The burglars pried open a grid, smashed several displays and glasses to access and steal some jewelry. Though the police arrived quickly after reports from a security guard and several citizens, the perpetrators had already fled. By Monday morning, forensic technicians were securing evidence at the crime scene. No arrests have been made yet, but the police are following several leads, including surveillance footage. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) was also present due to fireworks set off by the burglars, likely to obscure the surveillance footage. The exact amount stolen remains unknown.
