Greenlandic politician parties on US trip

Kuno Fencker from Greenland’s Siumut party went on an unsanctioned solo trip to the USA during Donald Trump’s inauguration, defying party policy and facing accusations of endangering state interests. As reported by Frihedsbrevet, he received tickets for political events worth hundreds of thousands of kroner, demonstrating US political interest in Greenland, as per Aarhus University professor Derek Beach. Fencker declined to discuss the issue with the press and recently cut off an interview when questioned critically. He has reported Aaja Chemnitz, a member of the Danish Parliament for IA, for slander after she labeled his trip as ‘harmful to state activities’. Jørgen Boassen, who organized Donald Trump Jr.’s visit to Nuuk, claims Fencker paid for his travel from Greenland to Washington on his own.
