At least 40 killed in Israeli strike on Gaza camp

An Israeli airstrike on a tent camp in Khan Younis, Gaza, has killed at least 40 people and injured 60. The camp, located in a humanitarian zone housing displaced Palestinians, was hit by four missiles, igniting at least 20 tents. Gaza civil defense officials, speaking to Reuters, describe the scene as another Israeli massacre. Israel’s IDF confirmed the attack, claiming it was directed at a Hamas command center and precautions were taken to avoid civilian harm. They accuse Hamas of using civilian areas for terror activities against Israel. Hamas denies their militants were in the zone and terms the IDF’s claim as a lie. Gaza’s health authorities report that nearly 41,000 people have been killed in the region since October 7, without specifying civilian or military casualties.
