Footprint places suspect at 1990 murder scene
A DNA match and footprint have linked a 54-year-old man to the 1990 murder scene of Hanne With. He was arrested at his workplace, a slaughterhouse in North Jutland, and denies killing her. The breakthrough came in December 2022, when kinship DNA searching connected the defendant’s son’s DNA, found in the database, to evidence from the crime scene. Subsequently, the suspect’s own DNA matched with the highest probability to the trace found at the scene. Moreover, a newly examined footprint from the victim’s kitchen has been confirmed as belonging to the suspect, which he has acknowledged.
