Knuth suggests Mona Juul as successor to Pape

Marcus Knuth, a former MP and current European Parliament candidate, supports Mona Juul as the next leader of the Conservative Party, following the death of Søren Pape Poulsen. Knuth applauds Juul’s stellar business reputation and fully believes in her capability to lead the party. Although political observers have mentioned both Juul and Mette Abildgaard as contenders, Abildgaard has ruled herself out due to family commitments. Juul, who entered the Folketing in 2019, has not made a statement about pursuing the leadership role but mourned the loss of Pape. The Conservative Party focuses on the funeral arrangements for Poulsen, set for Saturday at Viborg Cathedral, while contemplating the appointment of a new chairperson.
