Danish hotels see dip in early summer visitors
During the first two summer months, Danish hotels experienced a slight decline in guests compared to the previous year, according to Lars Ramme Nielsen, Trade Director of Dansk Erhverv. Copenhagen stands out, with more American visitors due to two new flight routes. Despite this, numbers still fell short of the 2023 level, yet the year was good overall. There is no significant concern as the industry had made strong progress with approximately 250,000 more hotel bookings by May compared to 2023, based on statistics from Danmarks Statistik. Looking ahead to the remainder of 2024, a Horesta survey indicates that 61% of Copenhagen hotels and 55% of hotels outside the capital expect an increase in guests. Jeppe Møller-Herskind, the deputy CEO of Horesta, anticipates August to bring most growth, reflecting positive expectations for the sector.
