EU – Climate duo
Dutchman Wopke Hoekstra is the European Commission’s new Commissioner for Climate Action and Slovakian Maroš Šefčovič is Executive Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the European Green Deal. This was decided by a vote Thursday in the European Parliament in Strasbourg. As early as Wednesday, however, it was known that the new climate duo had been given the green light by parliament. The formal vote on Thursday has established the decision. The decision was taken after hearings with Hoekstra and Šefčovič on Monday and Tuesday with follow-up questions. /ritzau/
