F-35/F-16 flypast on Sunday

It has been two weeks since the first four F-35 fighter jets landed at Skrydstrup Air Base in Southern Jutland. But the official reception will not take place until Sunday, when the planes are formally handed over by the American manufacturer Lockheed Martin at a ceremony in Skrydstrup. Crown Prince Frederik will participate in the event, as will Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, Business Minister Morten Bødskov and top officials from the Armed Forces.
Up to 10,000 citizens from the local area of the air base in Haderslev Municipality are invited to visit the air base on Sunday. They will be able to see the new fighter jets on the ground and in the air. On Sunday morning, one of the new fighter jets will take to the skies, accompanied by one of the F-16s that are about to be phased out. After that, the two fighter jets will embark on a tour of Danish airspace. The final route and estimated times when they can be observed in the sky will be announced on social media later this week. /ritzau/
