Pro-Russian activists down Danish election site
Pro-Russian activists conducted a DDoS attack, taking down the Danish Ministry of the Interior and Health’s election information website during the EU election day on June 9. This is highlighted in a report assessing the EU election’s progression. The Center for Cyber Security assesses that the attack was carried out by pro-Russian activists, causing the shutdown of valg.im.dk. The breakdown was confirmed at 11 a.m., but the website was accessible again by noon. The disruption did not affect any voting processes. The report also mentions that several other countries experienced cyber-attacks related to the election.
