Government summons business leaders to Marienborg
The Danish government has convened selected business figures for a meeting at Marienborg, the prime minister’s official residence, as reported by Børsen. The meeting is to take place Thursday, where the government will discuss current issues with corporate leaders. Erhvervsministeriet confirms the dialogue is in the face of geopolitical tensions. Minister Morten Bødskov highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation with the business community. Prior to the meeting, prime minister Mette Frederiksen had a 45-minute call with president-elect Donald Trump, emphasizing the significance of trade between the U.S. and Denmark, mentioning Danish companies’ contributions to growth and jobs in the U.S. This comes during tensions arising from Trump’s interest in acquiring Greenland which could affect Danish exports through increased tariffs. Despite concerns, Danish Industry advises remaining calm, citing a strong relationship with the U.S. as Denmark’s largest export market.
