Escaped zebra found safe among cows

A zebra that escaped from Jyllands Park Zoo on Wednesday has been found safe on Saturday evening, about ten kilometers from the zoo, in Vorgod, among cows. Sofie Hansen, a zoo biologist, confirmed that the zebra is in good health and they are very happy. Two other escaped zebras were quickly recaptured using tranquilizer darts and are also well. A local resident spotted the missing zebra, leading to the zoo’s immediate response. A vet tranquilized the zebra for safe transport back to the zoo. Despite the cold February weather, Ove Nordestgaard, the zoo owner, said a zebra can survive, suggesting it found shelter and food. The zebras had initially escaped by kicking open a lock, a situation that can be easily secured in the future with a new lock.
