Mette F. open to peacekeepers in Ukraine
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has expressed an open-minded stance on deploying peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. This came to light after a London summit, where European and Canadian leaders gathered to discuss Europe’s contribution to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. Tensions were palpable following a public spat between Ukrainian President Zelenskyj and US President Trump. European leaders emphasize the need for Europe to increase support for Ukraine and bolster its own military defenses. The UK and France have declared their willingness to lead a European peace model that may include deploying peacekeepers. Frederiksen highlights that security guarantees also involve the protection of critical infrastructure, not just the presence of soldiers.
