Oslo-Copenhagen ferry gets a new name

The ferry route between Oslo and Copenhagen is changing its name to Go Nordic Cruiseline, announced by Swedish company Gotlandsbolaget in a press release. The route, known as the Oslo boat, is being rebranded following a Swedish acquisition last year. The historic service, having operated for over 150 years, will see changes in its name, brand, logo, and colors. Kim Heiberg, the route’s Group Director, says the name reflects their proud Nordic heritage, emphasizing a focus on Nordic entertainment and cuisine. The Nordic Pearl, one of the route’s ships, has already undergone refurbishment. Last year, over 700,000 passengers traveled the route. DFDS, the Danish company which has owned the Oslo boat since 1866, will continue handling bookings during the transition.
