Denmark has experienced its wettest consecutive 12 months on record from July 2023 to June 2024, with a total of 1125 millimeters of rainfall, the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) reports. The period has surpassed the previous record of August 2006 to July 2007, which saw 1091 millimeters of rain, with the third highest being June 2023 to May 2024 at 1056 millimeters. The 12 absolute wettest individual months combined result in a total of 1675 millimeters of precipitation. Contrarily, the driest consecutive 12-month period dates back to November 1946 to October 1947, totaling only 389 millimeters. The 12 driest individual months together amount to a mere 100 millimeters.
