Jysk Stores exceed 40 billion in turnover
Despite economic challenges, Jysk’s turnover rose by 7.6% to DKK 41.4 billion, with a 12% increase in operating profit reaching DKK 4.43 billion for the last fiscal year. The company expanded with 137 new stores and now runs over 3400 stores in 48 countries, with recent investments in distribution centers in Holland and Spain. Facing increased operating costs and an unpredictable retail market, CEO Rami Jensen remains committed to handling these uncertainties and pursuing the chain’s growth and expansion strategy. Concurrently, Jysk gained 11.9 million new customers. Next year, the retailer plans to open its first store outside Europe in Casablanca. Jysk, originally named Jysk Sengetøjslager, was founded in 1979 in Aarhus by Lars Larsen, famous for his TV ads promoting the stores.
