Danish restaurants earn 44 Michelin stars
Denmark received 44 Michelin stars across 31 restaurants at the Michelin Guide’s annual awards, matching last year’s count but adding one more three-starred establishment. Copenhagen’s Jordnær earned three stars, joining Geranium and Noma, which retained their three-star status. Newly opened Restaurant Aure in Copenhagen gained its first star and chef Nicky Arentsen was awarded the Young Chef Award 2024. Restaurant Koks, currently located in Greenland, was notably absent from this year’s list. Special awards included the Service Award to Restaurant Lyst in Vejle and the Sommelier Award to Enomania in Copenhagen. Restaurants Alimentum in Aalborg and Tri in Agger, maintained their Michelin star and received a green star for sustainability. Post-awards, Denmark remains the Nordic country with the most Michelin stars, leading over Sweden with 28 stars, Norway with 25, and Finland with 10. Iceland holds steady with three stars.
