Google fund invests $43M in Danish CO2 tech
A Danish company named Again, which transforms CO2 emissions from industrial plants into eco-friendly materials, has caught international attention from Google Ventures. Owned by Alphabet, Google’s parent company, Google Ventures invests in promising startups. Together with HV Capital, they have agreed to invest 43 million dollars (295 million Danish kroner) in Again. This investment increases Again’s total funding to approximately 100 million dollars. Using special bacteria and microorganisms in bioreactors, Again converts greenhouse gases into chemicals, food, or animal feed. Torbjørn Jensen, the company’s co-founder, insists on the technology being affordable and robust. Rooted in research from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Again expects to launch its first facility by the end of 2025 or early 2026. The petrochemical industry accounts for 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, highlighting significant climate potential for innovations like Again’s.
