Govt. seeks to lower BAC limit for new drivers
The Danish government proposes a near-zero alcohol limit for new drivers during their first three years on the road, aiming to enhance traffic safety. This is part of a broader rural district initiative to be unveiled by the Minister for Urban and Rural Affairs, Morten Dahlin (V), on Thursday. Additionally, the plan allows 17-year-olds with driver’s licenses to drive without supervision during designated hours to facilitate travel for work or school in rural areas. The initiative also contains measures to boost tourism, such as creating new summer house plots and converting redundant buildings for tourism, while avoiding mass tourism. Furthermore, the government intends to make establishing winter bathing facilities easier. The outlined proposals, however, do not come with a total financial estimate.
