More seniors work despite receiving pensions
In January, 69,890 Danes had both an income from work and received a state pension, an increase of around 9,600 from the previous year, according to the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment. This rise is attributed to financial benefits from government initiatives, such as the elimination of pension offsets, allowing seniors to receive full state pensions even with a salary according to customer advisory chief Anne-Louise Lindkvist from Sampension. She believes this change will encourage more seniors to continue working post-retirement. Many seniors choose to work in the same field, while others pursue new directions. Lindkvist also notes the social benefits of working, which remain important to the elderly.
