Venstre hits high since government formation
Venstre, a party in the Danish government, matches its highest poll numbers since its last peak in August of the previous year and since the formation phase of the current government in December 2022, when it reached 13%. The recent Voxmeter poll places Venstre at 12.3%. Traditionally opposing the Social Democrats, Venstre’s decision to join the broad government came as a surprise, especially after Party Chairman Jakob Ellemann-Jensen’s refusal to support Mette Frederiksen for Prime Minister. Nevertheless, after disappointing initial reactions, party leadership travelled nationwide to justify the coalition. With the latest polls, Venstre is contributing to the government’s overall popularity of 36.4%, whereas Moderates, another government party, are at their lowest at 3.3%.
