Jyllands-Postens fond appoints Tina Nikolaisen as chair

Tina Nikolaisen has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Jyllands-Postens Foundation following the resignation of Jørgen Ejbøl in May. Nikolaisen, who was already on the board since last April and has a background as editor-in-chief of the magazine ‘Alt for damerne,’ has been elected during an extraordinary board meeting. The change in leadership comes after Ejbøl, who served as chairman for nine years, was involved in a controversy regarding a bonus of 2.1 million Danish kroner he received upon turning 75 in February, which he later returned after legal advice. JP/Politikens Hus, one of Denmark’s largest media companies, is owned by Jyllands-Postens Fond and Politiken-Fonden. Nikolaisen, succeeding Ejbøl, acknowledges his visionary and charismatic leadership but indicates a direction towards modernizing the foundation’s work with new initiatives soon to be introduced.
