Denmark eases ban enforcement on illegal gangs

A broad majority in the Danish Parliament has passed a bill making it easier to enforce bans on associations, such as gangs, that have been provisionally or judicially disbanded. The law, effective from February 1, stipulates that activities suggestive of continuing a banned organization are prohibited, without requiring proof of actual continuation. The change aims to alleviate the burden of proof for prosecution as previously pointed out by The Public Prosecutor. A temporary ban was imposed on the Bandidos gang last year, with an ongoing lawsuit deciding its permanency, and the first gang dissolved by law was Loyal To Familia, confirmed by the Supreme Court in 2021.
