Former top diplomat to chair Danish Broadcasting Corp
Lars Gert Lose, the former head of the Danish Foreign Ministry and ex-ambassador to the USA, is appointed as the new chairman of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) by Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt. Lose, who has top management and strategic development experience, will take over from Marianne Bedsted, who has held the position since 2018. Lose is stepping down as a partner from the green investment firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and on May 1, 2025, he will become the CEO of Finans Danmark, a finance sector interest organization. The DR board consists of 11 members, with Lose’s first significant task being the search for a new Director General to replace Maria Rørbye Rønn, who is stepping down in 2025. The new board includes prominent Danish political figures such as former ministers Helge Sander and Christine Antorini.
