Aid worker from WCK killed in Gaza

Nadi Sallout, a Palestinian member of World Central Kitchen, was killed in Gaza. It is unclear whether he was working at the time or how he died. No comment from the Israeli military was provided. Past incidents include a mistaken Israeli airstrike on a WCK convoy on April 1, 2024, that killed seven aid workers due to ‘serious errors.’ The organization paused its Gaza operations but later resumed. Israel admitted to mistakes leading to dismissals and warnings for officers. An Australian investigation revealed a misjudgment led to the convoy being mistaken for being captured by Hamas. Australia’s foreign minister stated a willingness to prosecute if necessary.
