Danish BIG architects’ earnings exceed 1 Billion

The celebrated Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) has passed the milestone of generating one billion kroner in revenue for the first time, boasting a 1.06 billion kroner turnover in 2023. Despite the building industry’s challenges, including interest rate hikes and high inflation, BIG nearly doubled its net profit to around 124 million kroner. Bjarke Ingels acknowledges the constant potential for industry disruptions, citing recent interest rate changes that impacted construction and development from Europe to North America. Renowned globally, BIG employs over 700 staff across offices in Copenhagen, New York, and London, and is famous for designing the ‘Bjerget’ residential complex and the ‘Copenhill’ waste-to-energy facility with a ski slope in Copenhagen.
