Gaza – school bombing

According to Hamas, about 30 people have been killed in an Israeli attack on a school in the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. The school is run by the United Nations Refugee Agency for Palestinians (UNRWA), Reuters reported. Shortly before, a Palestinian doctor at a hospital in the camp had told AFP that 27 people had been killed and 93 wounded in the attack on the UN school. The doctor, who did not want to be named, added that thousands of displaced Palestinians had sought refuge on school grounds. It was not possible to have the information independently confirmed or denied. Israel’s military did not immediately comment on the reports. Jabalia is the largest refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. It is located in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, which has so far been Israel’s primary military focus./ritzau/
