Govt. looking to India/Philippines
The government is planning to bring in health workers from outside the EU in order to overcome the shortage of hands in hospitals and in elderly care, according to Berlingske. Such is the announcement ahead of negotiations in the Folketing, which will be about recruiting more foreign labour for the health sector. Among others, the government has its eyes on India and the Philippines, Interior and Health Minister Sophie Løhde told the newspaper. “India and the Philippines have indicated that they are ready to enter into some form of cooperation on the recruitment of health professionals. And we are now entering into a dialogue with the two countries to learn more about how a possible cooperation can be put together,” says the minister. /ritzau/
