It is a poor rich country that does not believe enough in its culture to want to make it available to others. Therefore, the threatened scheme that ensures Danish lessons abroad must be maintained. The lecturer scheme, which since 1937 has ensured teaching of the Danish language and culture at universities all over the world, is again under threat.
