Green solution: According to a proposal from the European Parliament, the amount of plastic packaging should be reduced by ten percent in the years up to 2030 and 20 percent in 2040, among other things by introducing a ban on some types of plastic bags and plastic wrapping on fruit and vegetables weighing less than one and a half kilograms. A number of organisations from the Confederation of Danish Industry to the Danish Society for Nature Conservation support the proposal. The Danish Waste Association calls it a green paradigm shift in packaging.
