Iran calls in DK and S chargé d’affaires
Iran on Sunday summoned both the Danish and Swedish chargé d’affaires in Tehran over Koran burnings, according to the Iranian state news agency Irna. “Iran attributes full responsibility and repercussions to the Swedish government and the Danish government,” the head of Iran’s Foreign Ministry’s human rights department said in a statement. Several Muslim countries have recently called both ambassadors and chargé d’affaires for talks after Koran burnings. Denmark’s ambassador to Iran, Jesper Vahr, has also been previously summoned. Denmark has been urged by several Muslim countries to act immediately to prevent more Koran burnings. The militant group al-Qaeda has also issued a statement calling for attacks against both Denmark and Sweden. /ritzau/Reuters/
