Israel moves into S. Gaza
Israeli tanks have advanced into the south of Gaza, eyewitnesses told AFP on Monday morning. The move comes following Israel’s announcement of an expanded ground offensive. Tanks drove in near the town of Khan Yunis, with armoured troop transports and bulldozers have been seen driving in, possibly heralding a major ground operation. Israel has previously asked the enclave’s Palestinians to seek safety in southern Gaza. Israel has published detailed maps of targets in Khan Yunis, among others. But according to the BBC, this does not help people as they do not know where to flee to. The Israeli army said it had attacked 200 Hamas targets inside Gaza overnight, according to the Times of Israel. /ritzau/
